Ex-Philadelphia Eagles’ member Kevin Kolb uses experience for Arizona Cardinals – NFL News
Arizona Cardinals’ victory against Philadelphia Eagles 21-17 in the week 10 game of the National Football League current season came as a result of good game-play, but there was something else that proved to be the difference between
the two teams—an ‘expert advice’ by quarterback Kevin Kolb.
Although Kolb is currently playing for Cardinals, the time he spent at the Eagles’ franchise before joining the present one helped him learn the modus operandi of Eagles.
In the 2007 NFL Draft, Kolb was selected by Eagles and was later traded to Cardinals in July 2011. He has not played the last two matches and is expected to miss a few in the future as well owing to a turf toe injury that forced
him out of the week eight game against Baltimore Ravens. He missed the following games in the week nine and 10 against St. Louis Rams and Eagles respectively.
He had expressed desire to play for Cardinals against his former team Eagles saying that there was a ‘dramatic improvement’ in his injury, but he failed to make it to the final line-up on the big day.
However, that did not bother him and he continued to guide his teammates from the sidelines judging every move his former teammates initiated.
“During the two-minute drill, you almost feel guilty," Kolb said. "Mike’s sitting there giving the signals, and I’m standing there on our sidelines, screaming at our corners, 'Hey it’s a go ball, hey he’s running a screen, hey
he’s running a slant.'
Kolb was of the view that there was nothing wrong in taking the experience from one franchise to other and guiding the teammates about the teams for which one had played before.
“How much of an effect do I really have?" Kolb said. "I’m screaming to one guy. He may hear me, he may not. Luckily for us at that point (likely the end of the game), the crowd was pretty dead and some of our guys could maybe hear
it.”
Cardinals are currently ranked 23rd in the league table with six victories and three defeats, holding the third spot in the National Football Conference West Division. They are going to face their division leader-board
San Francisco 49ers this weekend.
