In the wake of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-de-Marseille-c40127 striker Brandao’s recent s*x scandal, two former secretary of states have urged all football stars to set good examples for others rather than absorbing themselves around controversies
It is common knowledge that French football does not take s*x scandals and other scandals as seriously as English football does. However, things have certainly changed following http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 international Franck Ribery’s adventure with Zahia – a case that took
French football by storm.
The infamous Zahia recently bounced back and this time it was Olympique de Marseille striker Brandao. The Brazilian striker now sees himself embroiled in a dirty situation as he his being indicted for rape. This comes as a surprise after he was applauded
at the Stade Velodrome a few nights back following a great performance in Marseille’s 2-0 win over LOSC Lille in a Ligue 1 encounter.
An investigation is currently ongoing and if the indictment proves to be right, Brandao would certainly face severe action from both Marseille and the Labour Court.
As predicted, Brandao’s actions have been met with a lot of anger and disappointment. Certain voices have been raised in the media condemning these actions. While talking to the Journal http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Du-c11689 Dimanche, two former Secretaries of State for Sport have raised concerns
over the habits of footballers.
For those two secretary of states, the findings have been shocking and disturbing to say the least. The two have even questioned players’ moral values after this scandal.
On the other hand, the idea of the high-level sportsmen that they call deserve to be reprimanded whenever they are convicted of a misdemeanour of any sort according to the two former secretaries.
For Chantal Jouanno, “the football players are stars. Now, the stars define the values of our organisation (society) ", and according to Rama Yade, “the football players have to show a clear line between the good and the evil.
The recent statements clearly reflect the two secretaries’ disappointment at footballers lack of moral values. Every footballer is expected to be a trendsetter and negative publicity does not really help in setting a good example for the fans.
