Ex and bill payments for his part?

What does your ex do when you send him or her their part of the bills for your children?

What amount do they have to pay (that the court order states)

Do you pay it all first and then send the bills like at the end of the month letting him know what he owes you?

  1. What each parent pays for the support is based upon what the court order states.  If a non-custodial parent is required to pay 50% off all expenses then that is what is expected.

It is probably easiest to pay the bills as they are incurred and then once a month give a statement of bills paid to the non-custodial parent for payment.  And each month's statement should include the amount of the previous billing and any payments received.

If you are expecting a large expense (ie - braces), it would be considerate of you to contact the non-custodial parent and let them know that it is forthcoming.
