  1. I don't get it.  What is showing up on your credit report?  Checks that the bank didn't pay because the account was closed shouldn't be showing up on your credit report.  Or, is it the bills that he was paying with the bad checks that are showing up?  If he's writing bad checks for his bills on checks that should have been destroyed when the account closed, that's his problem and you can inform the credit bureau of the situation in a dispute.  If a merchant sold the bad check to a collector, it's not your problem.  Inform the collector directly.  Tell them to call the police.  Writing a check on a closed account is fraud.

  2. Nicole, This is very common

  3. I would use a combination of affordable credit repair and a tradeline program to give you some good items on your credit report.  Your cell and utility bill should not be listed on your report unless they are negative items.  The tradeline programs are very affordable and would get you well on your way to having your own credit. My mom used it and not only was able to open other accounts, but her score jumped 51 points. Check out the free evaluation form at www.totaldebtsolutionsllc.com They can help find you a qualified loan officer as well.  Good luck.

  4. Why are you so worried about your score?  Is the score going to change you life if it is 600? No it isn't, don't live by popular belief that your credit score is this huge important thing because it isn't.  Just pay cash for stuff, if you can't afford it don't buy it.
