Question:

Ex-smokers-have you tried Chantix?

A girl at work swears by Chantix, it's a smoking cessation pill. I would like to quit smoking, but have tried to go cold turkey and can't. I would like that little extra boost to help, but I would also like more than one girl's opinion. How are/were your results with Chantix? Any bad side effects? My insurance will pay for most of it, but it will still be about $30 a box, is it worth it?

  1. I would look it up on line. I have heard of some bad side affects for some people. Check out any of the "Quit Smoking" drugs before using them. Everyone is different, & you only have to get the wrong one once.

I would like to quit, too.

  2. I AN ON  CHANTIX AND I STILL SMOKING

  3. I started taking Chantix 13 days ago to quit smoking.  I am a military dependent so it was free.  The instructions tell you to quit smoking after 7 days of taking the medication.  I quit on the 7th day and have not smoked since.  It is much easier than going cold turkey and the withdrawal has been minimal.  The only side effect I have had is vivid dreams.  The Dr. says this could be because you get more oxygen when you're not smoking.  It has become fairly bothersome and I will probably quit taking it as soon as I feel "safe" that I won't resume smoking.  However, it has been a great drug to help me quit.  I highly recommend it!
