Exactly how many homes does Sen. John McCain have?

"The correct answer is at least four, located in Arizona, California and Virginia, according to his staff. Newsweek estimated this summer that the couple owns at least seven properties. And a Politico analysis later in the day found McCain's family owns at least eight properties, according to property and tax records, as well as interviews."

His staff says "at least four"? That's quite a dodge . . .Does anyone know the exact number?

  1. God knows, it probably can range into the 10-12 market counting condo's, houses, and estates. And it is funny how some right wings say it dosen't matter when they call Obama an Elitist.

  2. Its NOT bad to be successful

Its BAD to elect someone with such a feeble mind that they 'Forgot" what they own

    OR

so rich that they think you need to be making $5 million yearly before you are to be considered rich

  3. What's the difference?

Since when is is bad to be successful?

  4. gee let me have my people get back to you on that

hey !!!   you traitor, the economy is doing beautifully !!!....at least in my world.   lol

  5. i heard on both Fox & CNN that the official number was five, but i'm not entirely sure. i guess if the left and the right agree, then its probably the truth.

  6. Four or forty, does it matter?

    Most are investments, rentals, etc.

I aspire to earn as much money as the McCains have so I too can forget how many houses I have.

That would be the American way.

  7. That idiot

  8. YES, it does matter.  When your that rich, it proves how out of touch he really is.  OR trying to hide the fact!

  9. His family doesn't count because if I asked you how many homes you own you wouldn't include what your grandpa Jake owns would you.

  10. The correct answer is:  It doesn't matter.

Isn't there some real issue to talk about?

  11. How is it "quite a dodge"?

  12. I read he has seven homes

  13. Would you want a president running the economy when he can't answer a simple question like how many homes he has? That's a much better question, more important than the exact number; esp. when you consider that millions have NONE, and many more are going to lose the only one they have.

  14. It doesn't matter. Wealthy Americans, specially those as wealthy as the McCains, have investment portfolios that are heavily weighted with real estate. These investments are constantly in flux, houses and property being bought and sold on their behalf by paid investment advisers.

    Again, a non-issue.

  15. I have one house where I live but I own two others as rental investment property. I tried to get more but I could not find a felon willing to buy me a house. I sure wish there were some convicted felon around who would even pay 60% of the cost of my mansion. I might settle for one house if it was given to me as a bribe.

The McCains are seriously wealthy so your have to be more specific with your question.

How many residences do the have which are reserved exclusively for thier use? How many do they own and rent out? How many do they own and allow family members to live there free of charge (Cindy's Aunt)? Do you want to count time shares?

You might as well ask how many stocks they own. It's a complex question when you have significant assets.

If your lucky and you work hard then you might one day not know either, then you could pass that on to your kids so they won't know.

  16. Who cares? How many do you have? Either way it's irrelevant because it's his own business. He paid for them ALL legally (can't say the same for Barack regarding his ONE house-one house and he couldn't even do that legit) and pays taxes (outrageously high taxes) on each one, so again, it's HIS BUSINESS...

It's pitiful when any candidate has to stoop to the level of trying to use how many houses the other has as an issue in their campaign! Is that the best Barack can do? Very telling...

Add: Legal Eagle-being an elitist has little to nothing to do with "things" a person owns, it's about their attitude. Barack could be dirt poor and still be a bigger snob than Paris Hilton (which he is).

  17. It's 8.

However, John & his wife Cindy keep their assets separate.  The houses are owned by Cindy, his wife.  Theirs is a close marriage, but Cindy has a fortune of her own.  John McCain, may not have any houses in his own name...they could all be in Cindy's.  Hence, the unclear answer.

  18. why would you need to know how many houses mccain owns?  i find the whole thing as being childish behavior on the part of the liberals.  what should be of concern to all is how much money did both candidates and their families make per year and how much tax loop holes each use to keep from paying their fair share of the tax load.   since mccain does not know how many houses he owns i wonder if obama knows how much money his wife makes per year?  but your question is becoming the norm here on yahoo answers  mr doodles

  19. The homes are all in his wife's name so technically he does not even own a home.

His wife invests in real estate so she owns a number of rental properties.

  20. Including condos his family currently owns 12 properties.

Not surprising for a family involved in real estate. You buy some, you sell some & you make money.

  21. You are digging into the depths of irrelevancy.  The question was how many "houses" not "homes."  According to the latest, the wife owns the properties.  Further, some are houses, some are condos, and in at least one case, there are three buildings on one property.  So what?

  22. It is not a bad thing that he has seven houses but it is a bad thing when you try to characterize an opponent as being elitist when you have so many houses that you can't even remember how many you have. It comes off as being elitist, the same thing that he was accusing Obama of being.

  23. I think "kiss the sky" is right, i heard 12 including the condominiums. why does it matter though?

By the way Don, i don't know if you heard the actual debate or if you just heard the way that Obama twisted it, McCain clearly said he was kidding, how can you define wealth?

Why can't we move on to some real issues here, like socialized health care, its scary!
