  1. I would start counting from the end of the third Punic war (146 bC) War between Rome and Cartagho. when the territory of Cartagho(more or less Tunesia of today) invaded  and incorporated in the Roman Republic and became  Provincia Africae....And the colonialsme is still going on till today....

  2. Here's a good short piece on the 1884-85 Congress of Berlin which essentially divided Africa among European nations.

The answers to your question depends on which parts of Africa. There will be a different "exact" number of years for each specific area.

A simple way to look at it is that by 1900, every country in Africa was under the control of a European nation except for Ethiopia and Liberia.  After WWII and into the 1950's and 60's, African countries became independent one by one.  So you might say that Europeans dominated almost all of Africa for about 50 or 60 years.

  3. The longest european presence in Africa was the portuguese.

Portugal had possessions in Africa from 1415 to 1975, non-stop.

Moreover, Portugal was the only european country to control the whole of Africa from the early 1400's to the late 1700's. It was all part of the Portuguese Empire, although mostly coastal areas around the several hundred fortified trade posts the portuguese had all over the east and west african coasts.

  4. Well, the Romans had part of northern  Africa for a long time (decades B.C.E.).... but then part of Africa had Spain and Portugal up until 1492.  Parts of Asia STILL has part of Europe under its control.

Not all of Africa was colonized, and much of it has been free of colonization for decades.... and is starving to death.

Sorry if I derailed your "Evil White Person Rant".

  5. Portugal never owned the whole continent of Africa no one country did. 15th century to 20th century around 500 years is your answer
