Exactly how much of a punch does a hand grenade pack?

I only know what I've seen in movies but I really want a real-world idea, something I can relate to that will give me an idea of exactly how strong a standard hand grenade is.

FIRST..... Much of what you see in the movies is NOTHING like the real thing...... LAWs do not bring down a mountain and trap Rambo in a tunnel...... you can not hide behind a plasterboard wall and escape a hand grenade blast

SECOND..... most hand grenade blasts in movies are not realistic.....I have seen huge truck tires tossed 10 to 15 feet into the air..... the fragmentation puts holes in everything......the concussion will rattle your cage and can be felt through the ground for yards in all directions

Throwing yourself on a grenade will not guarantee others will not be hurt......but it d**n sure guarantees you will be hurt...... BIG HURT

According to Wikipedia, the lethality range is 5 meters, with anything within 15 meters being wounded.

Seth is correct,  anything within 5 meters will be pink mist.

Anything farther and it depends how lucky you are cause the shrapnel can be blown very far.

Depends on grenade

Frag grenades have a 5-15 meter range of lethality/injury

Concussion (offensive) grenades have a shorter range, but are very lethal

Incendiary grenades really really hurt if you touch one,but other than that...
