Exactly what are the steps to using a credit card when you pay somewhere.

Like do you show the cashier person your personal I.D or slide the credit card first? Can anyone please tell me every single step because next year will be my first year getting one and I want to know before I get it. EVERY STEP PLEASE!!!!! thanks =]

depends on the set up  -- more and more stores are self service so you take out your car and slide it into the machine withe the front of the car away and the little black strip on the bottom in the down positions -- than the machine will ask is this a credit of debit -- you will hit credit and it will go away and a signature page will appear and you will sign on the screen and hit a box on the screen that says ok and your will than get a receipt  -- if it is an old fashioned type you will give the card to the cashier and she will run it through her machine and than have you sign a paper receipt!!!   good luck shopping!!!
