A feminist is someone who believes in equality between the sexes.  They work to help women in distress due to discrimination and oppression, due to inequality.  Although there are many organizations that would fall under the term feminist, you do not have to belong to an organization.  It is an idea that you have and a belief that you hold.

I would want to be a feminist because I am proud to be a woman, and no one will tell me that I am less than any other human being, or incapable of reaching my dreams because of gender.
