I know the Bible mentions them; I think I recall reading about sailors long ago boasting of seeing all 7 seas & all 4 corners of the earth. Where are the "corners" on a globe ? are they the north pole, south pole, & 2 more ???

  1. none

  2. are you dumb a sphere doesn't have any corners

  3. "The four corners of the earth" means to cover an area in it's entirety.

Maps have four corners and the corners represent the most distant points from the center (unless it is a circular map).

A globe is the only method of accurately portraying the earth.

Modern maps, no matter what projection we use, distort the shape of the earth.

  4. There are not actual corners on a sphere or in the world. This is an expression that refers to the entire world, perhaps referring to the four compass directions. In Biblical times, it was understood that the world was round (see Isaiah 40:22). The idea that people in Biblical times believed the earth was flat is a myth.  See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/flat_earth

  5. go here and read. I think you will agree. http://pw1.netcom.com/~rogermw/square_ea...

  6. That's just a metaphorical expression. In biblical times, they believed that the world was flat. They were wrong about many other things, too.
