  1. THE END OF KNOWLEDGE IS LOVE, THE END OF EDUCATION IS CHARACTER.

THE ROOT IS EDUCATION AND THE FRUIT IS VIRTUE.

    EDUCATION SHOULD BUILD CHARACHER.

CHARACTER IS TO BE SOUGHT MORE THAN INTELLECT

  2. Education is something that we all go through for 12 years of our natural life in the US.  When people say that education is not a prep course, they mean that education is just there and doesn't help you in the future.  While I disagree with this somewhat because of the apparant knowledge obtained through formal education, to students, especially elementary and jr. high students, this quote has a lot o f intrinsic worth.  I am a junior in high school and I have never known what it is to "live" as the adults call it.  Education leads everywhere and nowhere at the same time, depending on the instructor.  If you go away from formal education and focus on the everyday life of an adult, they are "living" and learning at the same time.  YOu cannot be living and preparing for life at the same time.  So, if you are learning you are living.  If you are living you are learning.  It doesn't really work to say that all learning is a preparation.  Some can be, but a lot isn't, it's just random information that is pushed on you as a result of living.
