hi,

i have finshed doing my GCSE exams and the results day is the 22nd August!!. it is approaching swiftly, and i am getting more and more stressed about the results. i seem to be thinking about my results more and therefore worrying about them more.

i have been really stressy and shouting and shouting at people lots and am not only annoying myself, but other people too.

i have a close friend...althoght she's older than me, she advises me a lot. she tells me not to worry, that i will do just fine, and i cant change my results.unfortunatly, im still stressed about them. just to top it off, im having my 16th birthday 2 DAYS AFTER!!(24th August) AND....will be on holiday abroad, so cant pick them up in person...

my family are always putting me down, telling me i will fail and have no hope in me, i cant help but believe them anymore.

how can i stop myself being soo stressed out and stop worrying?? any suggestions will be gladly welcomed!

please help!!

  1. Shame on your family!  I can't believe they're putting you down at a time like this.  My advice is to concentrate on you and forget your family, be happy with yourself, be confident that you've done your best and no matter what the results are like be proud of yourself.  DON'T LET YOUR FAMILY PUT YOU DOWN, YOU DESERVE MUCH BETTER.  Very best of luck!!

  2. first of, gcse results are out on thursday 21st august.

do NOT worry about your results. what's done is done. you cant change anything so there is no point stressing yourself over nothing.

enjoy your summer while you can.

getting stressed will make u feel unhappy and there is no point in it.

worry about it on the day not weeks before hand.

dont let anyone tell you that you will fail, because after a while you may start to believe it.

i worried while waiting for my gcse results last year and i got 6 C's and 2 B's.

so go out and enjoy your summer. dont even think about exams!

afterall, if you have done bad you can always retake, it isnt the end of the world!

i myself am waiting for my As results. havent thought about them since the last exam.

if you start thinking about it and stressing go and unwind, watch a film, go shopping!

    good luck for your results.

  3. Ignore your family, what do they know. Stop worrying as you can't change the result now. Just remember that you can always retake them. Just think by Aug 25th you'll wonder what the fuss was all about either way.

  4. oh god i know what you mean i'm stressing out too. my results come in on the 8th of august well round about then. if i dont pass english i cant go to collage! very stressing. i just try keep positive and tell myself everyday that i will pass. its hard to keep positive and try to convince yourself that you'll pass but you get there in the end. you could keep your mind busy by reading or do puzzles i'm on yahoo answers to keep my mind of the exams lol. good luck with you results hope you pass!  =)

  5. FIRSTLY results day is on the 21ST OF AUGUST so its a day less wait yipee and even if u do bad its not he end of the world im shitting it like u and i know that if ive screwed up i will be devastated but there are always retake even though i would hate to do them good luck and enjoy the holidays because people say these holidays are the best, and a-levels are really hard so destress urself i lknow its hard but its all in the hands of the examiner

  6. 22nd august? Its 21st august (exactly a week after a-level results) that GSCE results come out. I had a panic attack 2 years ago when results day was drawing closer and closer. Last year, I went to collect some more results and I was nervous but I found that if I distracted myself and kept doing things with people and in the house, I didn't think about it until the night before. I think you should try to do things that you thoroughly enjoy so that you don't spend time thinking about your results. Its funny how I tended to worry about getting my results than actually doing the exam. It sounds as if its the same with you. But really, don't worry it about too much. It won't do you good, so just distract yourself and then you WILL tend to think about it less. It helped with me last year and my grades were actually better than I thought. :P Hope I helped :)

  7. It's not the end of the world =)

shure you'll be really devastated if you do "bad"

but you can always re-take them!!

    i'm shure you'll do really well =]

    x*x

  8. im in the same situation with worrying about my results but im trying not to. and ignore you parents if you do badly you can retake.. but it doesnt matter because a levels are more important so just concentrate on them if you do badly yourll still probably be relieved you know but im sure you did fine and then you can say to your parents that you did.

on the 22nd yourll be thinking why did i even worry and yourll have a even bigger birthday with celebrations
