Examination center for gcse?

I am 25 years old from India and now living here in UK. I am interested to do gcse. i found a lot of websites which provide ditance learning gcse courses. But my main query is how and where can i book the gcse exams. can i just book my exam without enroling on to any course on the websites. Because they are very expensive. At the end i just need to know how it works. Please help. Thank you

  1. I think you would have to go to college to take them. So you would get on a fast track gcse course and pay for them as a mature student. Go to the local college and ask see if they do them.

  3. Yes you can take a test, look for your local course enrollment brochure which is out about now,for september enrollment, and there is a test you can take. You do a short assesstment to help you find your'e starting point, then you do a practise test to help you get ready, then you take the real test.You can take the test at level 1(GCSE gradeD-G) level 2 (GCSE grade A*-C), but as far as i know it's free! Try getting in touch with your local civic centre they will be able to tell you more.
