  2. no, inaccuracy has nothing to do with whether or not the analogy is faulty. What makes it faulty is the absence of a parallel between the things compared, not the accuracy.

    Generally, it is called a "false analogy rather than a faulty analogy. The important question in determining a false analogy is : Do the two things put into the analogy differ in any essential and relevant respect, or are they different only in unimportant and irrelevant aspects?" (Barnett and Bedau, p287)
