    From the wall = AC

    From batteries = DC


  2. The simple answer is that anything that has a power lead and plugs into a socket is AC and anything that uses a battery is DC. There is a caveat, some things that plug into teh wall are doing so with a squarish box attached called a power adapter, this converts AC to DC, for example a laptop or video camera
