one would be the sand..early scientists observed how the sand can conduct heat, studies turned into the invention of the silicon chip.

the concept of the number system started with the use of stones, etc. for counting.

maybe when the cavemen saw how the rocks roll when they fall, they conceptualized the wheel.

Hook-and-loop fasteners were invented by someone who had burrs get stuck in (I'm not sure about this part) either his clothes or his dog's fur.  

I'm sure airplanes were inspired by man watching birds.

So many things man has invented, God had already made.  Dolphins using sonar, for example.
