  1. An electrophile is an atom that "loves" electron. Any atom that has a partial positive charge on it due to being bonded to something that is very electronegative. Ch3Cl would be a very good electrophile.

An nucleophile is an atom that has electron to give like Cl-, Br- any atom with a negative charge as well as NH3. Even though in ammonia nitrogen does not have a negative charge its a good nucleophile because of its lone pair or electrons. So after an atom with a negative charge comes atoms with lone pair.

Nucleophile should not be confused with a base where as NH3 is a good nucleophile NH2- is a very very good base and will act as a base ( ripping of a hydrogen) than act as a nucleophile and bond with an electrophile.
