Not sure how much Excel should involve in coming up the solution if you want results done by hand.

Say your 7 numbers are in A1:A7(in ascending order which is already done), first you have to find the 2nd quartile, the formula is

= MEDIAN (A1:A7)

i.e. is 14

The first quartile will be the median of those numbers smaller than 14, use this formula

= MEDIAN (A1:A3)

i.e. is 12

The third quartile will be the median of those numbers greater than 14, use this formula

= MEDIAN (A5:A7)

i.e. is 24
