Excel code for changing font-color?

I want to change the font-color ONLY if the sum of the number is negative. How can I do it? Do they have any code for it?

=if(sum(xx:xx)<0, font-color='red') is not working...

pls help

  1. By using conditional formatting.

    Select the column, row or cell you want to apply this to, click the &quot;Format&quot; menu (Excel 2002/2003), and &quot;Conditional Formatting&quot;. The options speak for itself.

    You cannot change formatting inside a formula.


  2. Format your &#039;sum&#039; cell as Number and select one of the two &#039;red&#039; font choices available if the number is negative.
