Excel coverting positive numbers to negative?

hey is there a formula or some tool i can use to convert a column of positive numbers to negative numbers???

1. Enter -1 into an unused cell

2. Copy the cell containing -1

3. Select the values you want to change

4. Paste Special... Values Multiply

5. Clear cell containing value entered at step 1.

Answer 2

just enter a formula to multiply your cell X -1

so A1 is your cell with your postive #, in B1 enter

=A1*-1

now copy/paste this as far down as you need to

then copy all of these formulas and do a

Paste Special

and select Values

paste the "values" on top of your original data.  Pasting values will paste the results of the formula (not the actual formula).

now you can delete all the formulas you created in B
