  1. I believe that's all based on opinion.  I recommend you do some research and decide for yourself.

Me peronsally, I think the U.S. is better just because I've never been to Canada.  I've never done research and I don't have any solid facts to compare the two.  I'm just going from what I know.

    Good luck :o)

  2. Where have you been that you don't know about the debacle they call "Health-Care in Canada. You have to wait so long for any kind of surgery,Canadians that can afford it flock over here for treatment.

  3. That's tough.  I will say that health care wise, and peace of mind....the nod would certainly go to Canada.  Although "free-enterprise" is the staple of the U.S, leading to greater possible financial exploits, having a sense of "peace" is something that gets thrown to the way-side from an importance standpoint.

I guess the answer would be "prioritizing" the most important things on your list....If being in good health, mentally and physically are atop your list, then ....in most places anyway......the U.S isn't the most conducive.  If "gettin money" is atop your list...then the U.S the right place to make that happen.

  4. I would move to Canada if I knew that I could find a job there.  I feel that the political and social climate is more interactive.  For me the biggest question is one of change.

    Canada is also healthier.

The crime rate in the United States continue to increase while in Canada it has declined.  The unemployment rate in the United States rises, in Canada falls.

The pace of life in Canada is a little bit slower as well.

It depends on how you live.

  5. My pick? U.S.

If anything else- no Quebecers to put up with!

Perhaps it is just a coincidence that 90% of the Canadian population lives within 100 hundred miles of the U.S. border.  Tis almost as if they're living within the U.S.'s body warmth.

As to why terrorists never bomb Canada, well Canada has never stood up for anything. When was the last time you heard of a terrorist attack upon Lichenstein?  Most Terrorists go through Canada because Canada is a revolving door to the US.

Here in Oregon, there is NO SALES TAX!  Try imagining THAT in Canada.  Where most of your paycheques go to taxes.

As far as Peace is concerned, one could make the argument that Canada has been riding the coat tails of the U.S. military benefits.  If someone invaded Canada, the US would respond because it's an open invitation to expand over our borders.

The health care system may be more available, but I noticed a heckuva lot more smokers in Canada.

Hands down- U.S., Bu$h madness or not.

  6. Although I have no intention of leaving my home, I'd say Canada.

Addressing each of the things you list:

    I guess Canada

    Canada, no question

    I would guess Canada

    probably Canada

    No doubt about it, Canada

  7. isn't cannibas more legal in Canada, here I come

  8. As a Canadian, I have always admired the United States, as I would expect you to respect your funny neighbours to the North that keep putting "u"s in words for no apparent reason.

I love both but live where I live.

  9. Cost of Living is higher in larger populations, so it could be either Canada or US depending on what State, Povince, City etc. you were living in... The US would typcially have higher cost of living...

Health Care is relative, in the US you get what you pay for, in Canada, everyone pays for generic health care. If you want special treatment, you go to the US and pay for it.

The US housing market has been decimated recently due to the Banks and sub-prime mortgages, It is a buyers market... Canada is about par right now in housing...

The highest paying careers would be the US (again, higher populations tend to be able to offer higher paying careers); minimum wage is far lower in the US though if you are at the bottom tier...

Canada is not at war, has a limited standing military (used primarily for peacekeeping and disaster relief), there has never been a terrorist attack on Canada, and a lower population (tends to result in more peaceful lifestyle). Travelling Canadians need to wear the Canadian flag to make sure as not to be mistaken for an American due to international hatred of the US. I think Canada wins the peace category by a landslide...
