The underarm sweat stains are just awful! I've sure got a sweating problem.

  1. yes stress can increase sweating.  Could also be hormonal.  What age are you?  Try to manage or decrease your stress.  Talk it out, find things that help relax you.  Try a different deodorant.  It may take a trial of several different brands.  Apply it often.  Also drink more water.  Sweating can lead to dehydration.  Also, the water will help thin out the solutes in the sweat and may make the stains lighter.


  2. Stress 'can' be one of the major causes of excessive armpit sweating. We normally sweat to keep our bodies cool. It's an involuntary act (the brain signalling the sweat glands to push out body heat through our underarms). But when we are stressed or anxious -- like before an interview, an exam, or even a date -- our body temperature rises faster. We are in a tense state, a 'fight or flight' mode. This causes excessive sweating to try and cool the body down.
