  1. Instead of doing an exchange, use your credit card, you get a much better rate and no commission!

  2. 1.46 is good, i checked last night, tsb and thomsons and it was 1.41. There is not usually much in it but dont do it at the airport, usually pretty cr.p rate.

  3. It's already been suggested, but thought I would back it up.  Use your debit card in a cash machine once you get there, depending on who you bank with you will be charged for using your card, but if you withdraw a reasonable amount the exchange difference makes up for the charge.  Same applies to using your credit card to pay for more expensive things, eating out, etc.

  4. Try and do it here, through a bank's cash machine.  You'll get a much better exchange rate, but your home bank will probably change you every time you take money out, so its best to do as few withdrawals as possible (while not carrying around too much cash with you).

  5. i have found exchange rate to be better in country you are going to.  Try kitco, bloombergand Google for exchange rate

  6. You will get a better exchange there, i always get 2 to 4 cents more when i go to the canaries. And if you have a nationwide debit card you dont get charged on that either.Best to get cash out of an ATM. 250 euros is about £160 + .Hope this helps

  7. I always wait and change at the resort.Have always found a better rate wherever i have been on holiday.Returned from Tenerife a month ago and had a far better rate than at home.Always look for the "no commision" shops.Always a risk taking cash with you but buying travellers cheques reduces your overall exchange rate.

  8. There is great competition in Tenerife amond the money changing offices so wait till you get there and check them out. Never buy at the airports they are too expensive.

  9. M&S best

  10. you will find that the current rate in most banks is around 1.42 at the moment, you can get a slightly better rate if you order your currency to be collected at the airport try travelex.co.uk. If you use your cashcard abroad then you will usually get a higher exchange rate but you will get charged with every account apart from a nationwide account.  Have a fab time.
