i want to know what were some great countries ppl in the USA have had great experiences exchanging with?

you should try it here in the philippines. in ateneo de manila, try searching for it in the net. it's a great school, with great people.

In my school theres something called Hands Across the Border where a mexican student lives with you for a weekend

Japan. My family hosted several Japanese exchange students when I was in high school (10 years ago!) I even went there and stayed with a family. It was a great experience!
