Question:

Excluding coffee etc. What's the best way to stay awake?

I done an all-nighter on friday and last night. I'm so tired but I'm due into town later today. What are your suggestions for waking myself up?

  1. Energy drinks!!!When they start to kick in they wake you up.


  2. Please, Please....Becareful Driving. Even if you feel awake enough to make it your eyes may start to burn and feel very tired on the drive.  This happened to me and It caused an accident.  Keep your windows down and the air conditioner up in the car, so the wind hits your face and the cool air keeps you awake.  Take a cold shower to get you going, If you can can catch a 30 minute or longer nap take advantage, eat a banana or piece of fruit the sugar and vitamins will help you with fatigue, and if you can take a short walk after the nap to get you going this will help also.

  3. There is a certain point that your body will shut down even if you drink energy drinks or coffee or take an over the counter stay awake drug (not a good idea). To be honest the best way to keep awake is to make sure you get enough rest (sleep) regularly. It doesn't matter how young or not so young you are.  

  4. Jolt cola.   Twice the caffeine and all the sugar of regular cola.

  5. umm....washing your face....eating sugar....any caffeinated food.....going for a quick walk or a run.....

    all those wake me up....

  6. Physical exercise. Even pumping a small hand-held weight or squeezing a hand strengthening spring will help to some degree.

    My cousin does this at the wheel. Once he's in gear, and doesn't have to change for a while, then he'll pump a small weight; move his arms, anything to let his body know he hasn't settled yet.

    Worst you can do is sit dormant. Physical activity alerts the body that it is not time to sleep yet.

  7. Scrub your face with water using a flannel or something. If that doesn't try doing a few lunges, that always wakes me up,.

  8. jog. eat something frozen - the only way i can wake up in the mornings is to eat a frozen yoghurt.

    coffee is always good. splash water on your face.

    and the bestthing? just go outside, and venture into the cold air.

    if that doesnt wake you, nothing will
