I have a drug test to take today for a better paying job, but its during my current job schedule. What is a good I can give my boss for me to be able to leave work for about an hour or so, without making him mad?

Take the drug test on your lunch hour.  It's not your bosses business what you do at lunch.  Otherwise...Tell him the truth.  If he finds out what you are doing and that you have lied, what kind of reference will he give the new employer, and in the event you are not hired, and he knows you lied, what are the chances he will keep you.  Besides if you are as good as you think you are then your boss will try and keep you rather than let another company steal you away.  Good bosses will not fault good employees for trying to better themselves.
