Question:

Exercise and bad back....

I was injured in a car accident almost 2 years ago and have a large range of medical restrictions and 2 bulging disks and disk disruption. Before the accident I was roughly 150-155 lbs and am 5'7'', which to some people may seem heavy to begin with, but I was perfectly happy at that weight. Since the accident, I was forced into inactivity due to the pain, and it took several months before I could even resume walking (but still long walks hurt my back). After gaining 30 lbs (depressions, lack of exercise, so on and so forth) I got pregnant and gained 40 more lbs....topping out at 233 lbs. After baby, I am stuck at 200 lbs. My baby is now 9 months old. It is difficult to even do just normal housework without pain, and diet alone is not working to lose the weight. I need serious answers only please. No canned responses like "eat healthy and exercise". I want to know if anyone out there has had bad disks in their back and found exercises that helped them to lose weight.

  1. Read the book called You Are What You Eat by Gillian Mc Keith. If you email me I can email you the 11 week plan that also includes when to exercise. I lost 70 lbs in 11 weeks.

  2. I did Pilate's for nine months, one hour a week. Then I did Aqua Jogging for six weeks, one hour a week, followed by a nice sit in the Sauna and then Steam Room. Worked for me. Best of Luck
