Exercise cycling bike?

My mum has got a cycling bike in her room. I was just wondering does it help you loose weight and if so how long will I have to go on it for?

  1. Cycling doesn't burn up fats - it's a high intensity aerobic exercise and anaerobic exercise like weight training is far more effective at burning fats as opposed to the carbohydrates and sugars that are utilised during cycling. What it does do however is improve your aerobic fitness level which then allows you to more effectively do those exercises which will burn up fat.
