Exercise during your period?

Is it safe to exercise during your period? I've had people tell me it's not safe especially if you do stomach exercises like crunches and leg lifts.

I've also heard doing yoga isn't good. Is this true?

  1. This is false.. You can go any exercise you want, you just need to be careful because many girls get tired during their period, and you don't want to push yourself too hard. Make sure you wear a tampon so you don't leak everywhere. Exercising will help increase the blood flow to your muscles and help relieve cramps.  


  2. Doing any type of exercise is great for your body no matter what time of the month it is. If you exercise regularly, your cramps may lighten up or stop all together and your periods may become lighter and shorter. Although some women get a heavier period for 1 day and then its gone by the 3rd day..not a bad thing..   :o)  

  3. none of that is true..It's the best time to exercise. Exercising helps keep down the  cramping and bloating.

Well..I'm not sure who you've heard this from, but I've never heard that it was unsafe to exercise during your period.  The magazines that I have read actually encourage exercise.  I continue exercising even when I have my periods, and as far as it goes, nothings happened.  Running may not always be the most fun, especially if you have cramps, so try wading in the water or go for a relaxing swim, it sometimes helps!

  6. Exercising is the best thing you can do during your period. I am a big runner and whenever I run with my period, it helps getting rid of my cramps. Also during your period, you'll tend to feel more fatigue and lazy, so don't workout as hard as you normally. Personally, I like pads while exercising because tampons seem more uncomfortable. It always good to wear tight underwear so that way you don't have leaks.

  7. You can do ANYTHING while on your period.
