Question:

Exercise vs No Exercise

Ok...here is the deal...I want to lose weight. I have a good diet plan that is already working..however once I start to exercise I gain a few pounds. Sure I know that muscle weighs more than fat but I don't want to be a strong fat person. Will I eventually lose more weight as I continue exercising and dieting? Or should I lose pounds before I actually begin any strenuous exercise? I was losing a little weight with my diet plan and not exercising.. but I also want to be fit...please help!

  1. Not only does muscle weigh more than fat, it also replaces whatever fat you may have (eventually). If you want to be fit, you can't do that with just dieting -- you have to exercise, too. The scale may tell you that you are gaining weight, but what really matters is whether or not you look better and healthier and more fit when you look in the mirror.

I would DEFINITELY recommend exercise. Try to do something fun that works for you, and try to do it at least 3x a week. Coming up with a set routine will help you become more motivated.

    Good luck!

  2. Diets really only work if you exercise along with them. You do gain muscle mass from exercising and that will make you gain weight, but overall you look better. You will lose the fat weight on you eventually and your body will become healthier. It is a better choice to exercise.
