Question:

Exercise with running and weights?

When I was at school I relied on my sports team practices to keep me in shape. Now I am home for the summer and have no idea what to do for exercise. I have a weight bench and free weights here and I like to run. Can anyone give me any guidelines into forming a regular workout plan that incorporates running (outside) and weights??

  1. Just keep running--go out and run a few miles several times per week.  When you get back, pick up the dumbbells and immediately start lifting.

You can add about 20 pushups per day to start and work yourself up to 40.  Also, add stretching and crunches.

The motivation is the hard part.  Just put a picture of yourself in a bikini on your bathroom mirror and that should get you out the door.

  2. Use weights when you get back to school, or if you're going back.

Do 600 pushups one day and run a mile and alternate days

and the other day do 750 sit ups and run a mile

    you'll be fit
