If you lived in a flat, in a city, and had a whippet where would you take him to have a daily run?

  1. A long daily walk plus a free run in the park should be fine, be careful with whippets because they have small legs that are easily broken by rough play with other dogs.

  2. Every city I know has a park.  You could ride your bike and get the attachment so his leash would connect to the bike and get some exercise together.  Just a good long walk every day will do both good.

  3. Well, the city should have a sidewalk so a 30 minute run on sidewalk should be fine. do you have a park near you? an off-leash dog park is good.

  4. Some cities have dog parks. Also you can talk to your local doggie daycare about visiting and letting him run however it could be somewhat spendy and a hassle. A good walk around your area would get him some exercise especially a small dog. But as you probably know whippets have a lot of energy and love to run. A dog park would be cheapest and the best choice, if your dog is behaviorment wise able to go. try google.com/maps and search for dog parks or dog friendly parks in your area.

  5. A "Bark Park" would be great if there is one in your area, otherwise, you're confined to leash walking your pup, because most likely there is a leash law.  A good 30-45 minute brisk walk should do the trick.  I would check to see if there are any local "Dog-Parks" within a reasonable distance if I were you, that way you can usually turn your fur kid loose to get that much needed excercise.
