Exercising is suppose to make you feel happier so?

Why isn't it working for me. In fact the exact opposite is happening. I got home today after a long days run of cross country, and feel completely depressed for no reason. Can somebody please explain to me what is wrong. Exercise is having the opposite affect.

  1. Exercising is supposed to make your body feel better, it doesn't batter the demons in your head.

  2. Make sure you are eating enough carbs, protein and fats to fuel your energy and of course drinking enough water. Also, if you just started exercising, your body and mind is adjusting to it. You have to give it at least 6 weeks.

  3. Exercising can help you feel better.   But if your body is still missing something.  exercise is not going to help.  be sure to eat a well balanced diet.  exercise will deplete your body of its nutrients and needs to be replenished in order to keep going.  Exercising does release endorphins that help stabilize your mood.  I suffer from bi-polar disorder and work out vigorously 3 days a week.  I also have started suffering from severe exhaustion.  I just went back to the doc to have a full physical and blood work done to see if we can find the prob.  they are specifically looking at my thyroid. If you are eating well along with working out you might want to do the same.

  4. Try telling a depressed person exercise is going to help them feel better.  Once I get out and I'm actually walking, I feel a bit better.

The problem is trying to get myself out there.

Maybe running is too intense for you.  Maybe try walking or something else that you think you might actually enjoy.  I know it does sound awful.  I understand so well.  Hopefully we can get ourselves moving.
