Exeter Chiefs welcome Nemani Nabolo
After causing chaos with Bourgoin in the French Top 14 season this year, the Exeter Chiefs have signed Nemani Nadolo, who is looking forward to do the same in Aviva Premiership fixture. He got his contract sealed finally and will move across the channel
too assist Chiefs in Premiership.
All the formalities regarding the transfer to Sandy Park were completed this weekend and Nadolo penned an 18 month deal. The 23 year old is looking forward to get used to his new environment as soon as possible.
The Fijian international said, “I can't wait to get involved in the English Premiership, I've heard a lot of good things.”
Talking about his excitement regarding this development, he added, “I've signed for 18 months so I've got the rest of this season and next year and I can't wait to get out there.”
Nemani Nadolo, formerly known as Ratu Nasiganiyavi is a Fijian international for Exeter Chiefs and plays in English Premiership. The 6ft 5in tall winger has a typical Pacific Islander style of play and it is the reason he was compared to Jonah Lomu, when
he joined Waratahs. He played for Perth Spirit for Mazda Australian Rugby Championship in 2007 and he alone scored 13 tries in a total of seven fixtures. He is a winner of IRB Junior World Championship, where scored seven tries in five matches. His focus and
monstrous run on the field made him a noticeable new find in rugby. He was awarded a Super Rugby contract for Waratahs in 2008 and made his debut in Development Tour of Fiji. He changed his surname in 2009 to honour his mother, who died when Nabolo was too
young. He got selected for his national side to play against Australia and then for IRB Pacific Nations Cup in 2010.
Rob Baxter the head coach has already hinted that he is looking forward for his new members to be at top speed and in form as quick as possible. Nadolo is ready for the upcoming away match against Newcastle Falcons this weekend in an Anglo Welsh Cup affair
and could find him being thrown into a fierce battle, when the two rivals will face each other.
For the former Waratahs star this trip to North East is not a new venture, as he has already made his mark in Kingston Park while playing for Bourgoin in Amlin Challaenge Cup.
He said, “If I get picked at the weekend I'll be relishing it and fingers crossed Rob (Baxter) puts me in the 23. I can't control that one.”
Sireli Naqelevuki and Josh Matavesi, his fellow Fijians are already playing for the club and Nadolo already has some familiar faces in the club that will help him socialize quickly.
He added, “One of the biggest factors in me moving over here was Sireli, I'm good mates with some of the Fijian boys and I'm sure I'm going to enjoy it.”
On the other hand, it is an opportunity to test his caliber in the real English Rugby’s top flight. It was something that he was eager to go out for. Elaborating about his obsession with English Rugby he said, “Gettting rose up in Queensland we followed
a lot of English Premier League, more so than French rugby and it's dreamlike to be here now. I've tracked it since I was a young boy; Saracens was the team I supported since they had a Fiji half-back in Moses Rauluni.”
