Exhanging a blu ray disc?

Question

I just bought a blu ray dvd, but i didnt know you couldnt play it on a normal dvd player and tried to. should i be allowed to exchange it?

you can play a regular dvd on a blueray, if yours doesn't then you blueray is bad, but first make sure you get the firmware update from the manufacturer..i know sony and samsung will send you one if you go on-line, they will mail one to your house

Obviously, your first answerer didn't bother to read the question. lol  No, you are not ENTITLED to an exchange. It's your problem you didn't know what you were doing, not the store. That said, most stores will allow an exchange, as long as you have all the original packaging and the sales receipt, just to create good will.
