Question

My list of favorite boy names is SOOO long that I decided to split it into 6 parts. I would like you guys to comment on them INDIVIDUALLY: what comes to mind, how it sounds, how it looks, etc.

lucien: okay, sounds like lucifer

marko: cool name, like it better with a "c"

max: love it!

nathan: good, traditional

oberon: sounds like some kind of mineral/rock

oliver: love it!

paul: really traditiona/biblical, but i like it.

peter: as far as biblical, i prefer paul, but its okay!

raoul: sounds like raul castro (cuban leader)

rhett: sounds like disease

all of them are pretty good tho!

Out of all the names I like Nathan the most.

If I were you I would go with Nathan.

Leopold: I think of someone upper class, I think the name is a mouthfull, for me, because it's not of my taste, it makes me think of someone that's fool of himself.

Lucien: Cute, uncommon and creative, I imagine a boy that loves to draw and has a very creative outlook on life.

Marko: Immediately I think of Marco Polo, but I think it could be a cute middle name or nickname. It doesn't seem strong enough to be a stand alone name.

Max: I love this name, its really cute, I think again, because its normally a nickname, that it'd be better as a nickname but I like it as a first name too. Try: Maxan, Maximilian, Maxwell

Nathan: This name is so cute and I love the way it looks when written down. It's a really sophistocated name, I used to know a Nathan and he was very quiet and reserved, you could tell him anything, so that's the type of person I associate with the name.

Neil: Sounds english or irish. Very old-fashioned, good as a middle name. Lucien Neil?

Nolan: A lot of people tell me this name doesn't seem very masculine, and I agree, however, I really like it. It's just one of those cute names that makes you think of someone that's easy to like. Really nice choice in my opinion.

Oberin: It sounds very unique and ethnic, I like that its different but it doesn't sound nice to me.

Oliver: Old-fashioned and cute. I love the rustic feel to it, it's masculine without being over the top and has dated very well. I imagine a fun-loving boy and teen and a very cooperative adult.

Paul: This is a family name of mine so I'm partial to it. I think it's cute and old-fashioned in a classic way. I think of a very warm person when I think of someone named Paul. Great first or middle name.

Peter: I guess its cute as a middle name, I dunno if I like it as a first name, its an old-fashioned name that I don't personally care for as much.

Raoul: It sounds very European and I like that about it. It rolls of your tongue nicely, I like something a little more classic like Paul or Oliver better but it's a nice name too.

Rhett: Not sure how to pronounce it (I'm guessing the h is silence and it's said like Brett without the b.) It seems a little incomplete to me, maybe as a middle name, but I wouldn't chose it.

ok you should sit down and say the names out loud like if you were calling your son and see if it sounds right, then think of if it will be easy to learn,if its easily teased, and if it sounds like a good man name for when hes an adult.I had to do that and ended up not naming my son Ashton.

I personally adore Lucian and Oliver. They're different but not too out there, that will cause teasing and mocking around the schoolyard.

Marko-Love this as its my husbands nickname(his name is mark)

Max-Max to me sounds like a nickname or a pets name

Nathan-Nathan is nice

Oliver-Love this its on my top name list aswell

Paul-to common and you have far better names in your list

Nathan and Nolan are my two favorites. Ryan would be a great middle name for both as well!

Leopald - Nice, but very dated. How about Leander? It's classic, uncommon but would work well.

Lucien - Not bad, although I prefer Luka/Luca.

Marko - Not a fan, personally.

Max - It seems very trendy, and everyone seems to have a dog named this.

Nathan - Ok. I can't stand the nickname 'Nate', though.

Neil - A little dated.

Nolan - Nice, unusual.

Oberon - I prefer the spelling Auberon, Oberon reminds be of a sci-fi bad-guy for some reason.

Oliver - Nice, simple.

Paul - Ok, again, a little dated.

Peter - Nice, timeless name.

Raoul - Not a fan.

Rhett - Makes me think of Gone with the Wind, but I think it could work.

I'm with JJ above. Nolan Ryan used to be one of my favorite boys' names ever! One of the greatest baseball pitchers who ever lived played for Texas and was named Nolan Ryan. (Google his name.) If you don't like baseball, though, you might not appreciate this. People will associate the name Nolan Ryan with baseball for the rest of his life. Nolan is an awesome name, and goes well with the middle name Christopher or Nathan.
