Question:

Exhaustion: Eye Twitch?

I sometimes get this eye twitchings.

I thought it's because I am tired or lacked of sleep.

I slept well for the last few days, and my left eye is still twitching.

It's not that kind of wicked twitching. The lower eyelid slightly trembles.

I also thought of it as a lack of water which I clearly deficiated lately.

I don't know what is the problem. How do I get healthy again?

  1. You need to continue getting 8-10 hours of sleep, drink your 6-8 glasses of water a day and eat some good fruits and vegetables. Walk around the block a couple times a day and try to have some quiet time. This is usually stress/lack of sleep related, so you just need to keep taking care of yourself and maybe also take a good multi vitamin as well.

  2. it could be stress as well.  it's normal, it happens to everyone, and it's not dangerous.  give it some more time, i've had eye twitches for days too...it's super annoying but harmless.

  3. I had this problem myself, back when I worked in a place that was particularily high stress while I was dealing with a lot myself.  From time to time, the corner of my eye would just start trembling or twitching for a few seconds, usually when I was tired, angry, or frustrated.

If you've been stressed out lately, that could be the reason.  Or, if you wear glasses or contacts, your prescription strength may need to be checked, because it could be a sign that your glasses aren't strong enough and they need to be double-checked.

Either way, if it's something that really concerns you, go ahead and ask your doctor but don't be surprised if you're told it's nothing.  It's a common occurrence, and will go away in it's own time, as mine did.
