Exit-Re entry visa for Americans?

Where do I get the exit - re entry visa from?

How long will it take for me to get it and how long does it last? Will I have to come back every 5 months or every 6 months to renew?

your first visa will be obtained from the Saudi embassy in the country where you reside currently.. then once you are here, you can renew it at any offical place where you live.. My father renews my mothers (he is Saudi and she is American) in Dammam every year... and she doesnt have to come back every 5 months or so.. she doesnt even have to do anything really... just made sure its valid is all just in case of travel...

I think mintee is referring to renewing your regular visa.

There are 2 types of exit/re-entry visas.  One is for one time use (200 SAR), and the other is for multiple uses (500 SAR).  I think you have to return within either 6 months or 1 year.  I can't remember, but you can have the time period extended through the embassy.  

It doesn't take long at all to get the exit/re-entry visa.  My husband got one for me in less than a day.  I'm not sure what office he went to to get it.
