Question:

Exotic Pet Store, Reptiles and Fish

I am trying to get a job at an exotic pet store with reptiles and fish. They say that they need people who know about reptiles and saltwater fish. I know plenty about reptile care, feeding, handling, etc. but I am not a saltwater fish expert. I know about pH level, but what would be some good fish information to impress the owner with. Good, impressive reptile info is also appreciated. (I put this question in fish because I need to know the fish info most of all!) Thanks!

PS: It is a single store, not a chain.

  1. good things to know:

any inch per gallon rule is full of c**p

fully cycle a tank before adding fish

    don't start with damsels

    pseudochromis (dottybacks) are very agressive

tangs need a 55 gallon minimum (certain ones need 125 minimum)

clownfish pairs should be bought at the same time

no more than 2 clowns to a tank under 55 gallons

re-arrainge the live rock after adding a new fish to reduce agression

there's more, did you want me to go on?
