Exotic carbon fibre mountain bike forks any feedback as to why they are so cheap?

im wanting some carbon rigid forks for mountain bike i obviously like the pace ones however cant really afford them why are the exotic's so cheap they look good any one using them any feed back would be greatly recieved.

When it comes to carbon fibre or anything else, just because something looks good doesn't mean it is.

There are many good looking but terrible quality CF forks out there, and there is a reason they are cheap... because they use poor lamination techniques, low quality materials and they tend to fail quickly.

Don't be fooled by looks and low price. Spend your money well and buy a well known fork even if it is more expensive.

i got a set of exotic cf forks on ebay. i've not done any serious off road riding on them but have used them for road use mostly, however, i have had a couple of spills on them and they are still fine.

as for being cheap, they aren't that much less than other bigger brands like pace or bontrager assuming ur looking on ebay.

i think the main reason is the lack of a big name, and they are probably slightly heavier than pace carbon forks or similar.

A lot of expensive engineering must go into the design and production of any type of composite component.  You can't simply glue together a bunch of carbon fiber fabric and produce a good quality bicycle fork.  Thus, good quality carbon forks are fairly expensive.

Frankly, I wouldn't want a cheap fork.  I can imagine fewer more painful wrecks than one caused by high speed failure of a carbon fork on a mountain bike.

er yes ok i think, probably cheap because there cheap to make!
