For about a year now I have been running my own in home party business in Alberta, Canada. But I am looking to expanding into other provinces and take on consultants since I have be receiving requests from others to be reps for my company. Just wondering what is required? I'll probably have to change my license type from sole to limited/incorporated, create legal documents for the reps, but I just don't know what else or where else to get information about how to go about expanding and changing my business. I have searched a lot on the internet, but no luck. What would be all the requirements I need in place before making a huge change like that in my company?

  1. Be sure to check your homeowners policy. Some companies will not cover you if you have a business at home. What about your supplies?  They might not be covered either.

Just call your local independent insurance agent/broker for his professional advice.
