Expansion for the cfl?

why doesn't the cfl pursue a more aggressive policy in putting teams in places like quebec city, halifax , moncton and ottawa? there has to be businessman interested in owning or co-owning a sports team. and why hasn't a community based effort in those cities not taken place? the community owned franchises in regina and edmonton and winnipeg seem to be working.

Moncton isn't large enough to support a team. In fact, no city in the eastern coast deserves a team.

The team is fine the way it is, unless you want to give Missisauga  team as well...lol

The only team that would get consideration would probably be Victoria. Or, they could put together a team called the Nova Scotia ____. That would be alright.

It is being looked at. However, apart from Edmonton and Sask, all teams lose money every year. So, the only businessmen who would invest in a team is ones who need the tax write-off!!

Too bad really, cuz CFL is a tradition and great entertainment in Canada.

In order for there to be expansion in the CFL, there needs to be owners in place that have management skills. They are looking into putting a team in Halifax, as well they are hoping that they can get the team in Ottawa back, but all of that remains to be seen. I personally think that it would be great for the game nationally to have a team out east because, lets face it, the fan base is waning somewhat, which is very sad if you ask me.

They are looking into expansion but are not running headlong into it, like in the early 90's. Ottawa will be back and maybe an East coast team.

The fan base is low, already one team in Quebec, the Ottawa team folded, need owners that have better management skills.
