Expansion of Japan during the early Twentieth Century?

I am supposed to write a paragraph on the 'Expansion of Japan during the early Twentieth Century' but I can't find any information on it on the internet... thank you so much in advance :)

The key event would have been defeating Russia in the Japanese-Russian war of 1905.  This was the first defeat of Europeans by Asians in a major conflict in centuries.
