Expect more from Luis Suarez: Daniel Agger
The Reds centre half, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Daniel-Agger-c9884, has hailed Luis Suarez’s performance on his debut and has backed him to score more goals in the Liverpool colours.
The Uruguayan striker was one of the two high profile signings made by the Merseyside club after selling http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fernando-Torres-c13707 for €59 million to Chelsea.
Suarez, who now wears Liverpool’s legendary No.7 jersey, made a dream debut in the Barclays Premier League - scoring in Liverpool’s two nil win over Stoke City.
Now, expectations are higher for the 24-year old, who scored 49 goals in 48 matches for his former club Ajax, and Agger believes that his new team mate has every attribute to become a world class striker.
"We need to have a few more games, but I think it's important for him and the team to get the goal so quick. For strikers it's always important to get a goal, and in the first game it's definitely important. I've not seen Suarez in training yet, but I'm
sure he can give Liverpool plenty of goals,” he said.
The centre-back emphasised the importance of 2nd goal in the match added it is always difficult for a team to defend in the last 20 minutes if there is only one goal difference.
"Different players have different styles. It's always the best option to have two different strikers to give options for the team, so that's good. I'm pleased for the team as well as him (Suarez) as we needed that goal, it made everyone relax the last 10-20
minutes.” Agger continued.
Despite enduring a horrible start to the season, in which the Reds spent most of the time in the second half of the table, things seems to be looking up at Anfield. With three consecutive wins in the Barclays Premier League, Liverpool has now jumped back
into the top half of the table and are expected to qualify for the European competition.
Agger has hailed the role of his new manager Kenny Dalglish, and has claimed that the Liverpool squad is happy and brimming with confidence.
However, the Danish defender insisted that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 would need to stay focused and would have to carry this form till the end of the season in order to finish in the top six.
Kenny Dalglish’s men have a daunting task ahead of them, as the Reds will visit Stamford Bridge to face http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 for their next Premier League fixture. Moreover, Liverpool former forward Fernando Torress, is also expected to make his Chelsea debut against
his former club in this weekend’s match.
