Question:

Expedia Plane Ticketing Info?

I recently booked a flight on Expedia, it says

"E-Ticket purchase has been confirmed by the airline. No tickets will be mailed. Airline check-in locations require government issued photo ID and may request proof of current date travel (such as a printed copy of this itinerary or a printed receipt) to issue a boarding pass. Airport security checkpoints may require you to display both your boarding pass and photo ID before proceeding to the gate, so we recommend that you obtain your boarding pass before proceeding to the security checkpoint."

And I was wondering if i actually get a ticket? How does ticketing work? Do I get a ticket or do i just get to the gate and give them my info?

Thanks

  1. If you had an email confirmation take that along and give them give them your passport at check in, they have all the info on the computer, where they'll give you your boarding pass, then you have to go through security with your hand luggage, then to your gate.

I usually take the email just so i can reassure myself of times etc, and in case anything goes wrong, but I've traveled with just my passport many times - although this can depend on the company. You won't get a proper 'ticket', just an email.
