Question:

Expedited Medicaid during pregnancy - so confused, help ?

My husband and I applied for Medicaid for my pregnancy duration only, today in the mail we got a letter stating they needed our birth certificates and Drivers Licenses, but then in another letter gave us "Expedited Medicaid Cards" That are only good through October 15th and will "Expire without notice". Does this mean we will have to re-apply in October, or is it just because they need extra documentation that we have not provided? I'm so confused!

Thanks!

  1. The expedited medicaid cards will get you through for now, just take in the rest of the documentation so they can complete the process.

  2. The expedited card is probably just to hold you over until you get your required paperwork in. Make sure you get everything in that they ask you because they'll make it very hard for you if you don't and you don't need that when you're pregnant. Good luck.

  3. Just get them those copies ASAP!

  4. Its just a temporary insurance card you wont have to reapply if you take your birth certificate and drivers license in before because then they will send you your permanent medicaid its nice the state your in offers expediated medicaid I applied July 22nd and didnt get mine till Aug 19th and had to lready miss a prenatal appt because of not having insurance or $1000 to pay for an out of pocket visit.

  5. They issue expedited cards when it is expected you will receive benefits. If for some reason you fail to provide documentation within their specified time frame, then they can cancel your coverage. If you get them the documents on time, a new, permanent card would be issued.
