Expedition Everest?

I just got back from Disney World, and I rode Expedition Everest, in Animal Kingdom, and anyway, when it is descending in reverse does it cork s***w, or loop? It feels as though it goes upside down, has anyone else ridden it and felt that way? Does it actually flip?

  1. Sorry, no inversions on the ride, just a steep, steep turn.

A loop would have been too difficult to incorporate on the ride - due to the safety requirements of the ride, they weren't able to have any part of the track touching any part of the mountain or vice versa - a loop would have made it d**n near impossible to achieve this objective and still have the outstanding ride they came up with.

  2. Just rode it 6 times in January (3 times in a row at one point).  It does NOT go upside down, or even close to it.

The only rollercoaster at Disney World that goes upsidedown is Rock'n'Rollercoaster at Hollywood Studios (was MGM).  Well, and the virtual rollercoaster at DisneyQuest.

If it went upside down you'd have over-the-shoulder restraints.

  3. I think it's a corkscrew.  That's the way it felt to me.

  4. The ride does not go upside down.  It's just a dark banked helix (downward spiral).

If it did go upside down there would have been a more secure restraint.
