Question

Here's the deal with OKC; they either have good players that are far past their prime, or washed up late 1st, and screwup 2nd rounders have landed.

Here's the question: how will russell westbrook (4th overall pick) deal with leading this team?

will he struggle under leadership like Rasheed,

will he need more talent and veteranship around him,

or last will he spark imeadiately and lead the team well, like kobe (youngest person to ever play.)

no bias located in this question. I admire all players that have showed themself, and i think being ignorant is useless.

Great point, Russell Westbrook is a talented guard who is capable of doing many things on the court. He would certainly be a spark for his team. He could give them around 15 points a game which is good.

But, OKC lacks talent to surround Durrant and Westbrook. They certainly need some support in there especially in the frontcourt (forward and center positions).

That was a good observation! I totally agree about Rasheed! To answer your question, I would say he will need more talent and "veteranship" around him. He seems like the kind of player that completely checks out of the game once their down emotionally! That won't make a good leader, but could work with leaders helping him through these spurts of emotion!

He will definitely struggle. But he is not the 'franchise' of this team, its Durant. The pressure will be more on Durant than Westbrook. They definitely need more talent and veteran players around them. Both will have nice stats and enough highlights to excite the city about the franchise's future. He will spark immediately, yes. Will lead the team well, yes. He will handle his own ground. I can even see him winning the Rookie of the Year since they gave him the opportunity to lead a franchise in his rookie season. But, they won't make the playoffs this year, next year, three years from now -- unless a dramatic signing/trade happens.

Kevin is the starter. Westbrook will only start if KD changes position.
