What Turbo Torch should i get to solder 1/2 to 1 1/4 inch copper water pipes with ?

Get a cylinder of Mapp gas and torch as a kit.  It burns hotter than propane and will work better at evenly heating the copper.

Or go to Lowe's and buy a Gator Bite fitting.  they work great and can simply slip onto the tubing.

You can buy one of the propane torch kits at home depot. It contains the solder and flux you need. It will provide enough heat to solder copper. Just be sure there is no water in the pipe or your solder won't stick.

To make a good soft solder joint you must sand the pipe clean and flux well, when you heat do not burn off the flux or the solder will not flow, as low heat as you can just to make the solder melt. Keep tapping the solder on the pipe until it melts then pull the flame back so not to cook the flux.
